I don't have many celebrations for this week because of the stress from college apps. However, I did make some more progress on my main common app essay which was pretty nice.
I experienced cognitive dissonance when we seemed to be working more of stuff we could have been doing later on in the semester instead of dedicating more time to college application and essay work. While it is true the there were after school hours on Wednesdays and some Saturdays in the month of October, many students can't come in on Saturdays or have obligations after school on Wednesday. I personally was able to attend some of these after school hours. When i felt that I needed more time to work on college stuff, I tried to fit in more time at home and as a solution so I could finish work.
My opinion on #activism hasn't changed much other than it is more decentralized in a lot of cases than I originally thought. I didn't really find any of the articles we read "convincing" so much as informative as they all (in my opinion) failed to fully consider the opposite side of what they were arguing. Thus, a comparison between the side of the topic an individual article was not entirely possible.
