Dinosaur Project:
The goal of this project was to create a dinosaur or some measurable object out of cardboard and calculate its total volume and surface area. The first thing we did was draw out what we wanted our dinosaur or measurable object to be using different shapes such as triangles and squares. We then drew some of the shaped we used on a separate sheet of paper in 3D. Next we started making our cardboard creation by drawing the shapes we wanted into cardboard and used exacto knives to cut the pieces out. Once we had our creation together, we measured all the shapes, and added all their independent surface area and volume to get the total surface area and volume of our dinosaur. While we were doing this, we learned how to calculate the surface area and volume or pyramids, prisms, cylinders, spheres and triangular prisms.
