Students make 16 line poems based off of their biographies. They then took lines from their poems and cut out images that represented those lines. The original plan was for every student's scroll to be displayed as a cranky. However, due to limited resources, space and time, only about a third were displayed in the mechanisms at exhibition. The rest were displayed on the wall opposite of Shin Pei's installation (See Image above).

Cranky scrolls are shapes made out of black paper placed on semi clear parchment paper with a light behind it. The paper is then wrapped around a stick and rotated through simple mechanism (see image on the right).
